Immanuel Kant said, “Live your life as though your every act were to become a universal law”.
“Life”- Though a small word but receives the most attention from us. I have heard people complaining about their life being so troublesome and tiring. I personally believe we lack an understanding of what can truly make us happy in life. Most of us believe “money” plays a great role in making our lives worth living. But is it the case really? There is an old saying that the people who have more money tend to have less sleep than the ones who have less money? I agree that money can help us in buying the stuff which we require for our daily purpose or to fulfill our luxuries. But where would you buy inner peace from? Amin Khoury who has a college on his name at the Northeastern University, “Khoury College of Computer Sciences” is an entrepreneur. Khoury paid a visit to the college to enlighten the student over there to marry their technical knowledge with a sense of faith in their own humanity.
“Those human connections—with spouses and children and friends—may be the most important investments you will ever make,” Khoury said during his address at the graduate commencement ceremony. “Don’t ever forget that life must have joy. It is supposed to be fun.”
Khoury believes that our life must have joy which leads to the establishment of inner peace. Khoury further graced the students with his words.
“Interestingly, I’ve discovered it’s in facing life’s most important decisions that intuition is indispensable in getting it right, and can lead to finding that joy in life,” said Khoury.
His point of view was a personalised affirmation of the university’s academic plan, Northeastern 2025, which embraces the benefits of lifelong learning, combined with interdisciplinary and experiential education and an approach to learning called humanics—a fusion of data literacy, tech literacy, and human literacy.
I would conclude by saying that friends please don’t ever forget that life must have joy. Slow down chasing money and invest time in finding inner peace.
