Rights or Racism?

Racism, a well-known term, is said to be expunged but has it been totally eradicated? The answer is no, it has just disguised itself in various forms. There are many political movements in which racism is the root cause. Residents of countries like the United States are the most affected due to the various forms of racism. There are many rights practiced by the residents of America that are racist in disguise. One of the rights is Alt-right.

Alt-right, an abbreviation to Alternative- Right, is loosely connected with white nationalist, far-right movement based in the United States. It was originated by White Supremacist Richard Spencer, who ran the National Policy Institute in the year 2010. The right aims at establishing a white ethno state in the U.S. Followers of this right are either neo-Nazis or are inspired by the era of the Nazis. When Donald Trump was chosen as president of the U.S., the right experienced a surge in it. Richard Spencer pulled no punches at a post-election rally in Washington D.C. shouting “Hail Trump! Hail Victory! Hail our people!” Jeffrey Juris, an associate professor of Anthropology at Northeastern University was asked to weigh in on the rise of alt-right” and its impact on Trump white house. Alt-right is one of the movements that include well-educated personnel such as Spencer, who is an articulate former Duke doctoral student, and many other surprising positions.

Racism of this type is not only occurring in the U.S. but also in various countries. However, they are not as violent as what the people of Nigeria faced in the U.S. in the name of human rights. Black people of Africa were sold to Lydia as slaves where they are tortured, exploited in a very harsh way. Human rights are used as a weapon in places where they discriminate against people on the basis of their nationalism, colour, etc. No border is left untouched by racism in this or that way.

Racism needs to be eradicated from society completely in order to attain global peace and development. Laws that are made against racism are required to be revised and implemented correctly. If needed new laws should be formed to protect the rights of humans.
