Justice or Equality- Which serves the best?

There are stereotypical biases that prevail in the society about women even today. The society is always judgemental towards them. On the other hand, there are extreme ‘feminists’, who demand special rights for women under the name of equality and female empowerment. However, it does nothing to remove the bias from society. On the contrary, it makes the bias more prominent. What women need is justice. Justice is irrespective of sex or religion. Toxic feminity and toxic masculinity need to come to a middle ground. A venture that is only possible through justice.

Equality is important but it should be applied within constraints. It should be sought through justice. It is important that there is a special quota for women candidates in many places. It is not to bring the males down but to establish equilibrium and encourage the females to overcome the physical barriers.

There is one particular issue that is always buzzing in newspapers, magazines, and blogs. That is gender pay equity. We have often heard of female actresses with lesser pay than their male colleagues. Within a marriage, the husband is expected to earn more than his wife. If the condition inverses, the relationship is bound to fail. Many campaigns, protests, and petitions have been initiated to the same. As a result, there is progress in the process of removing the bias. However, it is a slow one. According to an article by Northeastern University. A woman being financially independent doesn’t equate to ‘She doesn’t need a man’. It just means that she brings more to the table. Instead of being a financial burden, she becomes a value addition. Her success does not take away his success. The pie they share just becomes bigger. At the same, the woman should be meritorious and hardworking to earn her pay and not because she is a woman.
