Is Coronavirus the dread of today?

Coronavirus seems to be one of the deadly outbreaks which have caused multiple numbers of deaths across the world. Attempts have been made to cancel all transportations to China, Wuhan in order to prevent the spread of this virus.  According to the team of scientists at Northeastern University, closing the borders will not stop the spread but cancelling concerts will do.

The travel ban which was placed at Wuhan caused the spread of the virus in China itself but prevented the spread in international countries. There is now a need to restrict the spread on the community and individual level. This should be done by the one suffering from the disease. Isolating oneself, washing hands regularly, and minimal contact with people and staying at home are the steps the affected needs to follow.

Therefore, travel restrictions are important but you should distance yourself from other people to prevent the virus from spreading. This is the way the natural rate of transmission will decrease. However, these restrictions become difficult to implement as the virus is spreading rapidly across many countries and the cases are growing in its number. And people here should take responsibility for their own health while travelling and returning from their destinations.

If people travel to China, Iran, Italy, and South Korea, they should stay at home for 14 days and should observe and regulate their health. This also includes monitoring their own temperatures and avoiding social contact. These actions might not prevent the virus if you are already exposed to it, but will stop its transmission.

One more reason for its spread is the long incubation period of Coronavirus. The symptoms show up after a long time. Therefore, even if one is affected by it, he or she may pass screenings at the airport and travel countries before it is detected.
