Gyms are overrated to stay healthy

Gyms and training centres have been hyped a lot in the recent past. It’s some kind of obsession people have developed of gymming. Usually, people believe that gyms are the only place and option to workout and stay fit. That is also the reason why the fitness industry has boomed in the past few years. However, is going to the gym the only option to stay fit? Can you manage workouts without it?

A working individual usually has a very tight and stressful schedule on his/her workdays. Hence, they are not able to devote time to the gym in their daily life. However, not staying healthy is not an option these days with the kind of lives we live. You can’t afford a rest day because of some health issues in jobs these days. Also, joining a gym may not be a sustainable option for some people financially. Then how are people supposed to cope with it? A student from Northeastern University explained the significance and the scope of home workouts. She explained some easy functional exercises like jumping jacks, lunges, squat jumps, plank, leg pushdown, and burpees which can be done at home in a room or a hall. None of these exercises require any equipment or a partner. They can be done by anyone and anywhere. Repetitions and sets depend upon the athlete’s fitness. Some other exercises like pushups, crunches, leg raises, etc., also can contribute to a productive home workout. They help to build a strong core and maintain our body weight. A 30-45 minute home workout every day is sufficient to maintain a lean body.

Home workouts have become more approachable and elementary lately for people who have a hectic and busy work schedule. They provide you with the flexibility to exercise at any time and help save the time of travel to and from the gym. These days a lot of fitness experts post videos of their workout on social media which can be used by people to understand and implement various functional exercises at their home. It’s all about the willpower and passion to stay fit. Great muscles can be built and maintained at home too.
