Grooming Perfectionist- Terracea

Grooming is an important aspect of our life be it a simple jacket we wear or a partywear. I am not talking from the perspective of being glamorous but in simpler terms of clean and neat looks. Clothing matters a lot. Each one of us has a unique taste and style for each activity or event that occurs in our life. For example, a simple activity of staying home and watching Netflix includes wearing our most cosy and comfortable PJs.

During all these times, we should never overlook the most basic need that gave rise to the discovery of clothes in the prehistoric era. It was the necessity to protect and preserve our lifestyle against the climate. This fact has not changed to date. One must agree, that in the current scenario, clothing does fulfill many other demands. Generally, when we go shopping for a normal piece of clothing such as a winter jacket, we tend to search something that is durable, affordable and fashionable enough to not look like one is back from the 18th century (I am not sure whether there were winter jackets available in the 18th century but for the sake of argument, let’s assume they were) and it should be not-so-loud to prevent all those stares, gawks and double-takes. All the parameters together with the basic task of prevention against chilly winters make it quite a hassle to find the right winter jacket. This was the problem faced by, Eric Hui, a Northeastern University graduate in supply chain management when he moved from Hawaii to Boston. It was a petty issue in the eyes of general peers but paradoxically it gave rise to Terracea- an apparel company initiated by Eric Hui.

Back before Terracea was launched, Hui found that intense outdoor jackets designed for snow sports were durable for rash weather but they were extremely uncomfortable for daily life. On the other hand, low-end casual winter jacket did well on weekdays but they failed badly during the weekend skiing plans. It must have been a Eureka moment for Hui when he decided to launch Terracea on the middle ground. The apparel company designs jackets that are waterproof, having sealed seams, windproof and insulated along with the qualities of being breathable, stretchy and comfortable.
