Exciting events to look forward in January

Northeastern University, Boston is widely known for its innovative ways to blossom interest in young students and gather them for meaningful and enlightening lectures, debates and events. Every month, students wait for the scheduled events to find the right one falling in their space of interest. This month too, there are several talks and debates and other activities which can equally be fun and engrossing. Start your new year with exciting events.

To start with, on January 7, listen to the former U.S ambassador of the United Nations, Samantha Power, who is going to join the Civic Experience to share her experience in turning idealism into action at 4 p.m. on the 17th floor of East Village. On the same day, you can join Cheryl Richards, the Chief Executive Officer and the Regional Dean of the Charlotte campus of the University as she talks about the plans on the upcoming year at the State of the Campus address at 6 p.m. The students aspiring to study abroad can pay a visit to the Curry Student Centre, at the Dialogue of Civilizations Fair on January 8 and 9, 5 pm onwards. At the same location, on January 9 you can join the students and faculty members of the Northeastern community to celebrate the start of the new semester of a new decade from noon. A documentary will be shown on the traumatic experiences of sexual abuse named ‘Respect and Love’ on the same evening in room 220 of Dockser Hall.

Attend the discussion with the UN’s expert Victor Madrigal-Borloz on sexual orientation and gender identity on January 23, in room 230 in Dockser Hall. To witness an overview of Northeastern’s work on artificial intelligence, visit room 440 of the Egan Research Center at 11:30 a.m. Bond with members of Northeaster community the next day at the multicultural mixer at 7 p.m. There will also be an inauguration of Center for Design on January 28, on the 17th floor of East Village and gather on a trivia night on January 29, in Dockser Hall.
