With the advent of technology, this generation predominantly uses apps for even minor things. There are several food applications like Uber Eats, FoodPanda, Swiggy, etc that makes not having to cook easy. With an easy-to-use feature, a person can order as conveniently because the delivery of the food at the doorstep is just one click away. Although these apps made it easier for getting food delivered, they definitely couldn’t replace home-cooked meals. The extra-calorie food, that is over-budget, make an unhealthy diet. Those who are in remote areas are confident of home-cooked meals.
Perhaps, there are some who love to recreate the recipes of grandmothers and want to follow mother’s footsteps while buying ingredients and cooking food. In this bracket falls the Northeastern University graduate student: Ayo Oshainaike. He had the desire to replicate his mother’s methods to buy ingredients and cook food but due to his academic call he ordered fast food in his hostel, that’s when a plan struck into his mind. “FoodSpace” is start-up by him where unambiguously the recipes hunting and the cooking procedure is posted and without sacrificing convenience a user can operate it.
Ayo Oshainaike says, “What’s happening with our generation is that we have gone less for cooking and started delivery more just because of convenience, but I think it’s important to let people know that it’s easy to cook, it’s easy to have that experience.”
FoodSpace app, similar to other apps, use cookies and with machine learning comprehend the shopping behaviour of the customer with which figure out food preferences. This application is user-friendly which gives personalised suggestions for recipes with wine pairing.
We can discover recipes based on keywords and can save those to plug-in-features. It’s an interactive app, so we can explore new recipes. It saves time and money on grocery shopping. We can also explore recipes of famous chefs like Gordon Ramsay, find his recipes, the ingredients used, create a shopping list, and have a delicious meal cooked by self. We can share experiences and reduce food wastage as this app keeps track of perishable items which can be used for other recipes. FoodSpace can acquaint us with budget-friendly and healthy meals.
