There is no point of discussion that the human race is way more advanced than other creatures on earth. We have the greatest gift from nature, which makes us think that we are the ruling species on planet earth, consciousness. We are lucky enough to control our thoughts and channelise them, wherever we want. But our evolution was not possible just with consciousness. Let’s have a look at other pillars of our conscious evolution.
With the improvement in the lifestyle of humans since the last 10,000 years, we know that we are not dependent on the slow natural evolution. A similar message was given in the commencement program of Northeastern University, where the president of the college, Joseph E. Aoun said, “The world will never stop reinventing technology,” he added, “so we can never stop reinventing ourselves”. Gaining experience from various scenarios of life, humans learn to adapt and grow in the changing world. Experience acts as the major working force, as per conscious evolution is concerned.
We believe in spreading and storing the experience in forms of books, manuscripts, pictures, art, etc., which is collectively known as memes. “Meme” is the word used by the researchers, which is similar to that of a gene. Like genes are the genetic carriers, memes are the man-made knowledge carrier. Conscious evolution can be attained only with the unity of the people. The collective thinking, co-operation, sustainable practices, and co-creation can lead to the advancement of us. Evolution is not limited only to technologies but also includes psychology, sociology, and spirituality of the individual and the human race.
Every coin has the second side, so does conscious evolution. Issues like separateness, ecological devastation and competition may lead to the self-destruction of our species. We witness these issues on a daily basis. We see it in the form of religious riots, discrimination on the basis of different criteria, uncontrollable growth of pollution and many more.
Conscious evolution is surely the greatest gift to us from nature, but abuse of it can cause unrecoverable harm to us. Many researchers say that with the co-intelligence and ethical approach we can attain a greater pace in evolution. Evolution may have a starting point, but it is an endless journey.
