Airline Regulations should be grounded

Airlines are that kind of medium which provides the only rapid worldwide transportation network which makes it essential for the global business. It generates economic growth, create jobs and facilitates international trade and Tourism.

Greg St. Martin of Northeastern University said, “Airlines were deregulated in 1978 ending the government’s authority over specifying what fares that could charge and which routes they could run”. But there is always this notion, in all phases of life, that ‘There ought to be a law.’ Airlines are no different than any other industry and to run any industry systematically, there must be certain norms and regulations.

In present scenario the International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO of United Nations provides general rules and mediates international concerns regarding aviation laws.

Greg St. Martin also said as now we are able to book flights that would come with food, checked bags and your choice of any seat in coach therefore, you pay more for food or a seat with more legroom. It’s understandable for airlines to issue these charges in their scramble to generate as much revenue as possible in an uncertain economic environment but it is also important that passengers know what they are getting charged for and should not spend money blindly. In fact, they should also protest against such kind of regulations.

If we talk about the luggage rules that is if your luggage is not found then airlines usually agree to pay reasonable expenses which subject to negotiation and then also you have chance to file a second claim which takes normally six weeks to three months for reimbursement although, some may be more efficient.

Although, nowadays many regulations related to luggage and cancellation are acceptable but regulations which should be grounded is actually the high refreshment charges inside the flights as well as on the airports.
